They’re NOT organic, but all the fruit and veg are guaranteed Aus grown, and are MOSTLY sourced from independant growers. The milk, cheese, eggs and bread are sourced state by state. In Vic, the milk is provided by the Warnambool Dairy Farmers co-op, the apple juice from Mildura and the bread is baked in Dandenong.

Captain’s Creek Farm – Organic Box Scheme

This is a small farm just outside Daylesford, that is offering a range of mixed boxes of fresh certified organic vegetables in a re-usable box. Boxes are available weekly delivered to you or a drop off point. The produce available naturally is seasonal, but there is the opportunity to have a say in what they grow in the future and newsletters will assist with appropriate recipes for the range.

Box schemes enable growers to produce affordable organic food on a small scale. Costs are kept down by minimising packaging, cutting out the middleman and selling locally to reduce food miles – good for you, good for them and not bad for the planet either.
